Highlights
As a digital nomad who works in creative and IT fields, I'm always on the lookout for the highest quality, most ergonomic setup. I recently had the pleasure of trying the LG Electronics Portable Monitor, +View 16-inch, and I'm happy to report that it definitely lives up to its reputation.
The resolution is second to none, with WQXGA (2560 x 1600) High Resolution and DCI-P3 99% (Typ.) supporting a wide ranging Colour gamut with an Anti-glare panel. The 16:10 Large professional Screen can be extended to a 32:10 display when connected with 16 inch LG gram for full immersion, making it perfect for creative and IT related tasks.
The setup was effortless, with the USB Type-C ports on both sides, making it incredibly easy to attach and no additional power was required. It also comes with a convenient Auto rotate mode for either a horizontal or vertical screen so you can adjust the angle to what's most comfortable for you.
What impressed me the most was the lightweight of the monitor. At 670g (990g with Folio Cover), it's a must-have for any digital nomad. That, combined with the relatively good price (compared with direct alternatives) makes it a great value.
Overall, I'm very impressed with this monitor. I have no doubt it will help many digital nomads to work well, without compromising on quality. Highly recommended.

Concerns
I purchased the LG Electronics Portable Monitor, +View 16-inch as a secondary monitor to complement my primary LG 4K IPS monitor. However, I was disappointed to find that the budget LG monitor had poor color rendition and appeared purple compared to a higher-end Dell monitor. Additionally, the high resolution of the monitor made everything look tiny when used next to a 4K 24 monitor, making it difficult to configure a seamless screen setup. It's important to consider the native resolution of your primary monitor before purchasing this monitor as a second display.
While the LG Electronics Portable Monitor has some positive aspects, such as its lightweight design and good screen quality, there are several drawbacks.
Should You Buy?
Overall, the LG Electronics Portable Monitor, +View 16-inch is a great choice for digital nomads. While it isn't perfect, it certainly comes close. The resolution and colour gamut are excellent for the size and it is lightweight and portable. Furthermore, the setup was a breeze and it can be used in either portrait or landscape mode.
The only drawbacks were the inaccurate colours, the resolution being too high, and the inadequate speakers. These issues are certainly worth considering before purchasing, but for the price, you're getting a decent portable monitor with a lot of features.
My advice would be to try it out before buying to see if it meets your specific needs. If the positives outweigh the negatives, then the LG Electronics Portable Monitor, +View 16-inch is nearly as good as it gets for a 16-inch portable monitor. A well made, sleek, quality device that folds away small and is a pleasure to use.

LG's +View 16-inch: Budget Compromises Galore
I use this as a secondary monitor for software engineering. My primary monitor is a £700 LG 4K IPS monitor. It's not really fair to compare the two but the budget LG looks purplish and has really bad color contrast compared to the much more expensive one from the same brand. The resolution on this monitor is actually too high aswell, so when I have it next to a 4K 24 monitor, things are really miniscule and I find it hard to make the displays work together. If you're thinking of buying this, just be aware of the native resolution and make sure it's similar to your primary monitor.
LG Portable Monitor - Good, But Warps in Landscape Mode
This LG Portable Monitor is great for using with my Lenovo yoga. I'm using a stand with it in landscape mode and I've noticed that there's a bit of flexing in the vertical direction. I think that's just part of how thin and light it is though, so I can live with it since it hasn't gotten worse even after two or three weeks.
LG Portable Monitor +View 16
This LG Electronics Portable Monitor +View 16-inch boasts a well-crafted body and a noticeably good screen. It is easy to use as it requires minimal setup upon unboxing, making it a great choice for those seeking convenience. That said, it appears to be tailored towards Windows users, as the included instructions provide details regarding its configuration in Windows but no mention is made of it being used with macOS systems. Additionally, it is not apparent whether the monitor has any external update or diagnostic features that can be employed to ensure optimal functioning over time. All told, it has proven to be a worthwhile purchase thus far.
LG Portable Monitor: Pros and Cons
This LG Electronics Portable Monitor +View 16-inch offers a range of features that make it useful for a variety of activities. Pros include its lightweight design, good picture quality, and sufficiently powerful performance, coupled with minimal fan noise. Additionally, it is compatible with Linux systems, although Windows 11 compliance requires some manual work in the BIOS to change settings. Cons include a limited battery life, as advertised, and that it comes preloaded with bloatware, such as McAfee and Alexa. As well, the standard of the integrated keyboard is somewhat perplexing, featuring a hybrid of UK and US layouts, and may thus be difficult to use for typists. The speakers are said to be insufficient and a factory issue with the webcam meant it did not work. Further, re-installing Windows 11 requires an additional USB to Ethernet adaptor as windows won't have the necessary drivers for wifi. Despite its flaws, this monitor is reasonably priced at £1.8K and can be useful for day-to-day activities. However, if you plan to have the monitor on your lap often, it is advised to use a tray for additional stability, and for certain applications, the lack of a functioning webcam may become a limitation.
LG Portable Monitor: Good for Working Remotely.
This LG Portable Monitor +View 16-inch is a great product to buy. It's not real expensive and it has a good clear display, so I would recommend it.
Good and Lightwieght, Decent Screen
The LG Electronics Portable Monitor+View 16-inch is an incredibly handy computer, featuring a large 17-inch screen, yet light enough to easily transport on-the-go. Despite its lightweight build, the laptop doesn't compromise on quality, offering great visuals and simple to use navigation. However, the sound quality could be improved and battery life isn't quite as long as advertised, but overall a great option for those looking for a lightweight yet powerful laptop.
LG +View 16-inch Portable Monitor Review
I recently purchased the LG Electronics Portable Monitor, +View 16-inch to replace my 6 year old HP Windows machine, and I'm already loving it. With Windows 11, the boot-up time is incredibly fast. The screen is incredibly clear and bright, and surprisingly, very lightweight given its plastic build (though I had initially expected something more metal upon reading the specs). The battery life is not what LG says it will be, being only 19 hours, so if battery life is critical, an Apple M1 Mac Pro would suit better. However, I am warm to the metal finish, although I do like Windows too, so this is a nice compromise for me. As a brand, LG has been reliable for me in the past with my television and washing machine, and I'm hoping my LG Gram will be too, fingers crossed. All things considered, it may be slightly over-priced, but I'm satisfied with my purchase.
LG Electronics Monitor - Awesome.
This LG Portable Monitor is a great value with easy setup and great screen resolution. I was surprised at the price compared to others and was very happy with my purchase. Highly recommend for value, setup, and resolution. Impressed.
LG View 16: Blown Away.
I was a bit hesitant about payin for this screen, but I read about it on lots of websites along with other brands and decided to get this one. I made the decision based on really 2 things - the resolution was gonna be higher than the other cheap brands at 1080p, and I didn't wanna take a chance since I had bad luck with electronics from China before. So I got it and I'm totally impressed. It looks so clear and colorful, and it worked right away on my 15 Macbook Pro touch. I looked up videos about it and figured I'd have to figure out special software to get it to the native resolution, which I didn't need. I'm glad I got this good brand and not some cheap one.
Dutifully Satisfies Needs
