Highlights

As a digital nomad who works in creative and IT fields, I'm always on the lookout for the highest quality, most ergonomic setup. I recently had the pleasure of trying the LG Electronics Portable Monitor, +View 16-inch, and I'm happy to report that it definitely lives up to its reputation.

The resolution is second to none, with WQXGA (2560 x 1600) High Resolution and DCI-P3 99% (Typ.) supporting a wide ranging Colour gamut with an Anti-glare panel. The 16:10 Large professional Screen can be extended to a 32:10 display when connected with 16 inch LG gram for full immersion, making it perfect for creative and IT related tasks.

The setup was effortless, with the USB Type-C ports on both sides, making it incredibly easy to attach and no additional power was required. It also comes with a convenient Auto rotate mode for either a horizontal or vertical screen so you can adjust the angle to what's most comfortable for you.

What impressed me the most was the lightweight of the monitor. At 670g (990g with Folio Cover), it's a must-have for any digital nomad. That, combined with the relatively good price (compared with direct alternatives) makes it a great value.

Overall, I'm very impressed with this monitor. I have no doubt it will help many digital nomads to work well, without compromising on quality. Highly recommended.

Concerns

I purchased the LG Electronics Portable Monitor, +View 16-inch as a secondary monitor to complement my primary LG 4K IPS monitor. However, I was disappointed to find that the budget LG monitor had poor color rendition and appeared purple compared to a higher-end Dell monitor. Additionally, the high resolution of the monitor made everything look tiny when used next to a 4K 24 monitor, making it difficult to configure a seamless screen setup. It's important to consider the native resolution of your primary monitor before purchasing this monitor as a second display.

While the LG Electronics Portable Monitor has some positive aspects, such as its lightweight design and good screen quality, there are several drawbacks.

Should You Buy?Image of LG Electronics Portable Monitor, +View 16-inch

Overall, the LG Electronics Portable Monitor, +View 16-inch is a great choice for digital nomads. While it isn't perfect, it certainly comes close. The resolution and colour gamut are excellent for the size and it is lightweight and portable. Furthermore, the setup was a breeze and it can be used in either portrait or landscape mode.

The only drawbacks were the inaccurate colours, the resolution being too high, and the inadequate speakers. These issues are certainly worth considering before purchasing, but for the price, you're getting a decent portable monitor with a lot of features.

My advice would be to try it out before buying to see if it meets your specific needs. If the positives outweigh the negatives, then the LG Electronics Portable Monitor, +View 16-inch is nearly as good as it gets for a 16-inch portable monitor. A well made, sleek, quality device that folds away small and is a pleasure to use.
